Ticket Information

COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS

Ensemble administrators will register their ensembles based for the appropriate division for their ensemble.   

·       NOVICE- little or no previous festival experience.  Very beginning soloist. Incomplete instrumentation

·       INTERMEDIATE- Have attended festivals.  One of two soloist who are beginning to accel at improvised solos

·       ADVANCED- Experienced ensemble with a number of soloist showing advancing improvisational skills. 

·       HEAVY- Very experienced ensemble.  A number of soloist with advanced  improvisational skills.  Full instrumentation

TIMING

·       Each ensemble will have a 30 minute timeslot to include entry/setup, performance.

      ·       Following each performance each ensemble will have a clinic from adjudication staff.

Additional Event Information

Join us for the first annual California State Band Championships Jazz Festival.  Held in the iconic Gardiner W Spring Auditorium, this festival will include adjudicated performances (with commentary), On-Stage clinic following performance,  Master Classes, an Award Ceremony, and a special performance by the RCC Jazz Ensemble.

MASTER CLASS SCHEDULE

All Master Classes will being held in Tiger Hall.  Specific room assignments will be posted.  Wind players are encouraged to bring their instruments to the master classes

First Round of Master Classes 1:45 - 3:00 pm

Second Round of Master Classes 3:15 - 4:30pm

All groups are encouraged to arrive early to participate in both rounds of Master Classes.  

BACKLINE

Full Backline will be supplied for all groups on the main stage.  This includes 1 guitar amp, 1 bass amp, Steinway Grand Piano, Vibes, and Drum set.  Groups are encouraged to bring their own cymbals and snare drum. Backline will be provided in the clinic area as well.
